On The Rise: New Eight-Story Building Coming To 470 Dean Street Near Barclays Center
There’s no slowing down for the skyline near Barclays as the recently completed 461 Dean Street (between Flatbush and Pacific Avenues) is about to get company just across the street.
That neighbor will be at 470 Dean Street. According to YIMBY, foundation work has begun on what will be an eight-story mixed-use building with 63 units. Of course, the 32-story 461 Dean will dwarf the newest project, as it’s the tallest high-rise in the world to be constructed with modular units.
Avinash K. Malhotra Architects will design the space, while PRD Realty is the developer.
The architecture firm is responsible for other mixed-use projects including the W Downtown, the Renaissance office building, the city-landmarked Archive, and 2 Gold Street in downtown Manhattan.
Of the 101,831 square feet in the building, ground-floor retail space will measure out at 6,083 square feet.
The residential units will be rental apartments, slated to average roughly 798 square feet. In addition, 470 Dean will also include a parking garage which will fit 110 cars.
An estimated completion date has not yet been established.
