NYPD Traffic Agent Assaulted While Writing Summons On Avenue U, Cops Say

An NYPD traffic agent was attacked on Avenue U while issuing a summons to a car parked in a no standing zone, police say.

The assault occurred in the afternoon on April 10 at the corner of Ocean Avenue, according to authorities. The suspect allegedly stormed out of a nearby store and punched the 28-year-old traffic agent in the hand. He then jumped in the vehicle, a black, four-door Lexus, and fled the scene.

Police released a photo this morning of the suspect, who is described as a black man, between 20 and 30 years old, five feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds and medium complexion. He was last scene wearing black jeans and a black shirt.

The traffic agent refused medical attention at the scene, according to the NYPD.
