NYPD Seeks Help Identifying Thief On The F/G Line
The NYPD needs your help identifying and locating a suspect wanted for two robberies that occurred at the Smith and 9th Street subway station.
Police say the suspect in each incident was seated on the train, and as the train prepared to stop, he approached the victim, grabbed their property, and exited the train. Though items were stolen, thankfully no injuries were reported.
The first incident occurred on Wednesday, May 6 at 8:30am aboard the F train, when cops say the thief snatched a 46-year-old woman’s handbag before he jumped off the train at the Smith and 9th stop.
The second incident took place the very next day, Thursday, May 7, at 10:20am aboard the G train. This time the suspect grabbed the gold chain off a 70-year-old female straphanger before exiting the train again at Smith and 9th stop.
