A shirtless drunk man who struck a toddler in the face with a glass beer bottle was taken into custody Wednesday, a day after the Sunset Park street brawl, police said.

Jorge Cayetano, 33, fought another man while shirtless and intoxicated when their fight broke out of the Gold Star Supermarket on Fifth Avenue near 60th Street at about 9:00 a.m., police said.

Cayetano hurled a glass beer bottle at his opponent, but missed, and instead hit a 3-year-old boy in a stroller at the corner of the supermarket, NYPD sources said.

The boy, Alex Li, was with his mother and sister when the glass beer bottle sliced him above his right eye, causing him to bleed heavily, police sources said.

Witnesses said the gruesome scene prompted the boy to scream and his mother to cry while she held a napkin above her son’s head to stop the bleeding.

Police said the boy was not an intended target and was rushed to Lutheran Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Officials describe Cayetano as a homeless man who fled the scene to escape police, which launched an investigation using search dogs.

Cops spotted Cayetano lurking in Brooklyn and took him into custody Wednesday morning, but wasn’t immediately charged, an NYPD spokesperson said.
