Nueva York Takes On NYC’s Spanish-Speaking Families Of Autistic Children

Neighbor and speech language pathologist Jocelyn Wood is featured on the new episode of CUNY TV‘s Emmy-winning Nueva York, which takes on the joys and challenges of the city’s Spanish-speaking families with autistic children for Autism Awareness Month.

The episode follows the families of Nueva York editor/producer Gisela Sanders-Alcántara and her son Simon and Ofelia Fuentes and her son Ivan Garcia. Jocelyn appears alongside other professionals including New York-Presbyterian‘s Dr. Marisela Huerta, Special Education teacher and Board Certified ABA specialist Anna Marie Dorelien, and Creando Comunidad Neurodiversa founder Gina Peña-Campodonico in segments as well.

The program takes on everything from Ivan’s love of painting to why families of bilingual children may receive a late diagnosis.
