Now Open: Runner & Stone

The long-awaited bakery/restaurant Runner & Stone finally opened last week at 285 3rd Avenue, and Gowanus Your Face Off has a look inside, noting that the delay is understandable once you see the space, which features a second level that has an outdoor garden.

Their seasonal menus look fantastic: breakfast includes pastries from cheese danish to financiers, lunch features sandwiches, salads, and soups, and dinner currently has a grano arso fettuccine with duck sausage and hen of the woods mushrooms and a pancetta-wrapped blackfish with caramelized cauliflower risotto that sound like they’d be pretty comforting on a cold day.

Their hours are Monday-Thursday, 7am-10pm; Friday, 7am-11pm; Saturday, 8am-11pm; and Sunday, 9am-5pm. Aperitivo runs from 5-7pm, and dinner starts at 5pm. They’ll be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

In fact, they’re currently taking reservations for for New Year’s Eve dinner, which could be a fun chance to try them out. Call 718-576-3360 for more info.

Anyone try it yet? What do you think?
