Now Closed: Petrune?

The other day we passed by Petrune at 233 5th Avenue, between President and Carroll Streets, and saw the scene above — the windows have been papered over, and the signage covered or removed, so it looks like they’ve called it quits.

The vintage clothing and accessories shop, which has another location in Ithaca, NY, opened here in February. Owners Domenica Brockman and Justin Hjortshoj had run other stores in our neighborhood many years ago before moving upstate, but jumped at the chance to open a second location back here in their former home.

There’s no notice of the closure on their Facebook page, and there’s no real estate listing noting the space itself is for rent. We’ve reached out to the owners and manager to see if they’ve got other local plans, but have yet to hear back — we will update if we learn more.
