Notes From The CB14 Monthly Meeting

Community Board 14 held its monthly meeting Monday night at Edward R. Murrow High School. The next monthly meeting will be Monday, June 10, and the public is welcome to attend. Here’s what happened this month:

Council Member Eugene said he sent a letter to Landmark Preservation Committee Chair Robert Tierney to support the most recent efforts to landmark all of Victorian Flatbush. Council Member Williams also said he was in favor of landmarking the area (in his district, specifically, South Midwood), and Glenn Wolin talked about working with local politicians to get support for landmarking, saying he’d received support already from Eugene and Assemblywoman Jacobs.
  • Last month’s Youth Conference was the best yet, with participation from many of the committee members and upwards of 600 kids learning about jobs, internships, and other resources.
  • Mohammad Razvi of COPO instructed attendees to call 718-434-3266 if you know someone who is still at a hotel as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
