Northbound Service At Cortelyou, Beverley & Parkside Stations Returns Monday

Earlier this week, we posted that rehabilitation of the northbound platforms at the Cortelyou, Beverley, and Parkside subway stations was set to wrap up in early or mid-November–but according to MTA spokesman Andrew Inglesby, plans are running ahead of schedule. He says:

Normal northbound service along the Brighton line will… resume on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 5:00 a.m. We are happy to bring back normal service for our customers… two weeks earlier than the original schedule.

Community Board 14 says some changes you’ll notice to northbound platforms include:

  • Replaced staircases and columns
  • Repair of cracks in concrete columns, walls and platform walls
  • Painting of platform ceilings and the exterior and interior of the station house
  • Painting of girders crossing all four tracks

Finally, Inglesby says work on southbound platforms will “most likely [take place] mid-February to mid-June.”
