No Tea Shop For 5th Avenue?
Looks like tea drinkers will still be without a piping cup on the corner of 5th Avenue and 6th Street, as the long-teased Dimbulla Tea Shop is on the market.
A small sign announcing the forthcoming shop went up in the window of 381 5th Avenue back in April, and work slowly progressed in the storefront that previously housed Corner Burger. But it never did open, and a real estate listing for the space went up this week.
According to that listing, the 875-square-foot space is available immediately at a rent of $6,500 per month (which is, comparatively, not too bad for a corner space on 5th Avenue). However, there is also key money required (and no note as to how much), but you would be getting a completely renovated space — which looks quite lovely, and so close to being done, that it’s a shame Dimbulla never got a chance to open.
The listing suggests this brand-spankin’ new space would be “perfect for any type of restaurant, bistro, bakery, coffee shop etc.” Any thoughts on what might work here?
