New York State’s Jobless Numbers Go Up

New York State’s unemployment rate has grown over the past year to 9.1% even as the rest of the nation has seen unemployment decline, reports the New York Times.

At a staggering 14% unemployment, the Bronx is the hardest hit in the city. Brooklyn’s unemployment rate remains several points above the state average as it has been for decades with very few exceptions.

Governor Cuomo’s national political ambitions are in jeopardy as long as these negative numbers continue to climb. How do you see the rest of his term and his political life beyond New York playing out?
