New Signage For Punta Cana Up At Marine’s On 5th Avenue

A change is in store for the restaurant at the corner of 5th Avenue and Bergen Street, but how much of one remains to be seen.

The windows of Marine’s, the Latin-American coffee shop at 50 5th Avenue, were recently papered over, and new signage for Punta Cana Restaurant Bar has gone up. It must have just happened — we may have simply missed it when we passed by this corner over the weekend, but neighbor Tracey Toole, who sent this photo, thinks it may have gone up yesterday.

We’re still working on tracking down the owners of Marine’s to see if this is just a name change, or if this is a new business coming in, but phone calls to their number (which is the same as the one on the new awning) have so far gone unanswered.

There’s another coffee shop called Punta Cana located not too far away in Clinton Hill, but they told us this new spot has nothing to do with them.
