New Public Pre-K Classes Coming To Bishop Ford Space, Registration Tomorrow
If you live in District 15 and your child is still on a wait-list for pre-K for this fall, you might be in luck! The New York City Department of Education is adding seven new pre-K classes at the former Bishop Ford High School space, to be run by Principal Laura Scott from nearby PS 10.
The city is leasing the space at Bishop Ford, the Catholic school that closed at the end of the last school year, which is located at 500 19th Street, between Prospect Park West and 10th Avenue. Another program — the charter middle school BUGS — also leases space in the building.
Since the school year starts on Thursday, September 4, there’s not much time to jump on this — in fact, if you’re interested, make space in your day tomorrow! They’ll be registering students who have been wait-listed at other schools (not those who are simply looking to transfer) on Tuesday, August 26 starting at 9am on a first-come, first-served basis at PS 10, 511 7th Avenue, between Prospect Ave and 17th St.
You’ll need to bring your child, plus their 2010 birth certificate, their vaccination card, and two proofs of District 15 residence. The school notes that admission to this program will not provide your child with priority admission to PS 10.
