New iPad at the Library Checked Out for Good

Two weeks after our local branch’s long awaited grand re-opening, it seems someone has already checked out one of the library’s iPads. Permanently.

The coveted tablet computer intended for the neighborhood’s 2-8 year old set was removed from its security casing and walked out the unguarded door. The library is looking into replacing it, but for now there will be a longer line for the stolen tablet’s three remaining siblings.

Really? Stealing is a pretty lousy way to make a living. Stealing from a public library is about as low as it gets. So now hundreds of kids won’t be tricked into reading Harold and the Purple Crayon.
