New Farmers Market Coming To Parkside Plaza This Sunday, July 19
A new greenmarket is coming our way!
GrowNYC — which operates such markets around us as the Cortelyou and Flatbush Junction sites — just landed their permit to operate a farmers market at Parkside Plaza (at the intersection of Parkside and Ocean Avenues), which will debut its locally grown fruits, veggies and more this Sunday, July 19, from 8am-4pm.
The Parkside Plaza market will operate every Sunday through November 22 and will include plenty of summer fruit and vegetables, honey, bread, baked goods, fresh goat cheese, milk, beef, lamb, and pork from area farmers. Plus, there will be weekly cooking demonstrations, free recipes and family friendly activities.
The participating farmers include:
- Bakers Bounty breads & pastries from Union County, New Jersey
- B&Y Farms pork, lamb, poultry, eggs, flowers, yarn, and fleeces from Tioga County, New York
- Goodale Farms dairy, beef and vegetables from Suffolk County, New York
- Nature’s Way Farm honey & candles from Chemung County, New York
- Maynard Farms & Orchards fruit from Ulster County, New York
- Race Farm vegetables, fruit, perennials, and baked gods from Warren County, New Jersey
WIC and FMNP checks will be accepted at individual farmer stands, and EBT/food stamps/debit and credit cards will be accepted at the market info tent.
