New Associated Market Coming To 5th Ave & 17th Street

One year after the mysterious “Marketplace” banner appeared on the old Associated Supermarket building (5th Avenue and 17th Street), we finally have a peek at what’s coming to the space.

Signs recently posted outside the construction site reveal that a new Associated Supermarket is headed to the neighborhood, with an anticipated spring 2014 opening.

The space has been vacant since a massive fire gutted the supermarket and the Unisex Hair Salon, which led to the Mambo Lounge’s closure, and displaced several families in 2010.
