Neighbors Spruce Up Q Gardens

Basking in last Saturday’s sun, neighbors picked up many a hammer and built three more tree guards at the spot that will become the lovely Q Gardens in the city-owned lot on East 18th Street behind the Church Avenue subway station. The group of volunteers is hoping to put up the guards over the next few weeks and is looking for help watering the plants in the tree pits. If anyone who lives nearby would like to help with the watering, please shoot over an email to qgardensinfo@gmail.com.

Neighbors have been working to transform the empty space that has long been filled with trash and stray cats into a family-friendly community garden packed with everything from veggies to flowers.  See more photos of this awesome event here!
