Neighborhood Cats Rescued, Ready for Adoption

Updated at 11:56am

An update comes from Adelia on the trap-neuter-release program that took place last week.

Last week I led a Trap-Neuter-Return project with feral cats on the block of Marlborough between Cortelyou and Dorchester and I think we rescued the Solo Bar kittens that everyone was talking about on the blog and their mom. The mom is in immediate need of a home or foster and the kittens will soon be available for adoption.
Anyone interested in fostering or adopting Ila, or the kittens in the near future, can contact me at honeywood5@yahoo.com

Eight cats are available for adoption. All the necessary information is included below the cut including, yes, some of the cutest cat pictures you’ll see for a while.Photos by Michael Meysarosh

We trapped 14 cats. Six feral adults were spayed/neutered, vaccinated and released. The others were 7 kittens, including I believe the Solo kittens and their kin, and their mother, the calico cat who always hung on the corner at the Avon store waiting to be fed.
The mom cat, calling her Ila, is extremely sweet and affectionate and in immediate need of a fosterer or permanent home.
The kittens are of various ages and will be available for adoption in the near future but will need some more socialization to people. You can see in the pics that they’re a little shy.
They include (with bar-appropriate names)
5 calico or torty females: Stella, Pauli Girl, Brandy, Sherry and Noilly
Two males: Walker and Collins (Walker is black and white and Collins is a tabby tuxedo).
The kittens really need cat companions and are bonded to one another so they need to be adopted in pairs or at least in a home with another cat.
Ila, Brandy, Sherry and Noilly have all been spayed. All cats have had their first round of vaccinations. The remaining cats will be spayed or neutered soon.
Anyone interested in fostering or adopting Ila, or the kittens in the near future, can contact me at honeywood5@yahoo.com. If anyone has experience socializing kittens that would be a great help as well.
The adoptions are being handled through Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition and a short application, brief home visit, and modest adoption fee will be required.
See pics attached. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

You need to see the cats and I need an excuse to post pictures of the cats. Without further without further ado, here they are.

It’s going to be really, really hard to top this post today or ever.
