Negril BK Debuts On 5th Avenue, Replaces Cooks & Captains

PARK SLOPE – A new Caribbean restaurant, Negril BK, opened yesterday at 256 5th Avenue in the former Cooks & Captains space.

Launched by Peter Best and the Best Restaurant Group—the same team behind Cooks & Captains, SoCo in Clinton Hill, and Streets in Williamsburg, the group launched two other Negril eateries in Atlanta and New York, though they are no longer affiliated with the latter, Our BK Social reports.

Best Restaurant Group’s Culinary Director, Kingsley John (formerly of Red Rooster Harlem, Daniel) will serve as the Executive Chef, offering innovative Caribbean cuisine. Small plates include wings and BBQ ribs, while main dishes feature jerk chicken, braised oxtail, and seafood stew, according to Our BK Social.

Like Cooks & Captains, the spacious restaurant consists of three rooms, but Negril BK will have a “Rum Shop” where visitors can enjoy rum-based cocktails until 2am.

Negril BK will be open at 5pm for dinner tonight. Let us know what you think if you check it out before we do!
