My Brooklyn Baby To Close After Four Years On Fulton Street
Popular Fort Greene baby boutique My Brooklyn Baby will mark its official last day this Saturday, August 15 with a goodbye party from 12-2pm — a last chance for patrons and business owner Darcy Le Fleming to hang out in the store that has filled 692 Fulton Street with life for the past four years.
“I am thrilled to be pregnant with our second daughter who is due to arrive this fall and as our first daughter Nadia inspired me to make massive changes in my life (like opening a baby boutique), the impending arrival of this new bundle of joy has forced me to re-evaluate my life again,” explained Le Fleming in a July 28 blog post.
However, all is not lost, MBB fans: as also noted in DNAInfo, the My Brooklyn Baby online store will remain open for orders. And it will also have an expanded line of children’s products, developed by Le Fleming!
“While this change will not be easy for me,” she wrote, “I will continue to produce the t-shirts, onesies and hair accessories which have become the go-to gift for many Brooklyn families and I will be expanding the product range to include things like my new Canvas Growth Charts. Over the past few months, I have clawed my way through photoshop and illustrator tutorials, taught myself to screenprint, how to properly use my sewing machine and learned to navigate NYC’s garment district. It has been awesome and I hope you will enjoy the fruits of my labor and continue to support My Brooklyn Baby.”
