Music News From Neighbors In Ditmas Park

Grey Sky Appeal
The magical trio‘s third album, Occam’s Razor, is now available to download. The collaboration with Typical Cats‘ Qwel started in their native Boston, and is their first record completed since moving to Ditmas Park. The group says:

Inspired by the principal that the simplest answer is often the correct one, Occam’s Razor is a bold and adventurous rap record, fusing a vast array of styles and concepts that exemplify GSA’s sonic wizardry. The new record addresses a kaleidoscope of content ranging from mindless music industry zombies to “honey chicken waffles”.

Lucius
The band, who wrote their self-titled EP in one of our local Victorians, have just been signed to Mom + Pop Records. Their 23-date tour supporting Tegan and Sara and Dispatch starts runs June 13-September 7, but there are sadly no dates nearby.

John Munnelly
John just released a really cool stop-motion video for the song “Legends” off his latest album, Hello World. He will be playing at Bar Chord on Saturday, July 6 at 9pm, and to whet your appetite, he’s offering a free download of the song.

The National
Somewhere between playing a surprise show at Sycamore and riding bikes to their gig at Barclays, The National actually released their latest record, Trouble Will Find Me. Plus, they’ll be taking the stage with fellow Ditmas Parker Sharon van Etten at the Twilight Concert Series August 1 in Salt Lake City’s Pioneer Park.
