Muse Cafe & Tea Opens On 6th Avenue

Muse Cafe & Tea (497 6th Avenue at 12th Street) officially opened their doors this past weekend, so we stopped by on Monday afternoon to take a peek.

Muse has a bit more seating than Red Horse did, but all of the chairs are stool-style, so it’s probably not going to be quite as comfortable to work for any extended period of time. That said, the overall appearance is brighter, thanks to the light paint and wood colors, there are more outlets than there were before, our mocha was quite tasty, and the gluten-free brownie and green tea cupcake we sampled were pretty stellar.

The prices are average for a neighborhood coffee shop, and they’ve got gelato, which is going to be nice come summer time.

The pastries are beautiful, and had we not just devoured an entire plate of pasta, we would have been all over that hazelnut cake.

Baristas Will Adams and Artur Lewinski (shown above, left to right) tell us that in addition to their current pastry selection, the cafe will feature Asian-inspired sandwiches and salads in the coming weeks.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, be sure to stop by and say hello to the folks at our newest neighborhood cafe!

Muse Cafe & Tea is open Monday through Friday, 7am to 8pm, and Saturday through Sunday, 8am to 8pm. Credit cards are accepted.

Thanks to neighbor Diallo who tipped us off to its opening!
