Mother And 9-Month-Old Son Struck By Van On Cropsey Ave

A 34-year-old woman and her 9-month-old son were hit by a van this morning as they attempted to cross Cropsey Avenue.

Eyewitness News reports:

The accident happened at 12:53 p.m. at the intersection of Cropsey and Bay Parkway.

Police say a 28-year-old man was driving a white van south on Bay Parkway and made a right turn onto Cropsey, striking the two pedestrians.

Mother and child were both taken to Lutheran Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to reports. The mother had lacerations to her face and pain in her leg, and the boy had a cut on his head.

The van stayed on the scene. An investigation is ongoing, and no criminality is suspected.
