Morning Mug: “So Many Names, There Is Barely Room On The Walls Of The Heart.” – Former Poet Laureate Billy Collins (“The Names,” Read By Former New York Gov. George Pataki)

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.” — President George W. Bush

Full disclosure: In breaking from the usual Morning Mug protocol, this photo was not taken in Sheepshead Bay, nor anywhere near southern Brooklyn, but rather in Farmingdale, NY, home of the American Airpower Museum. I was fortunate to meet retired NYC firefighter Robert “Bob” Stiehl, a volunteer there, and hear his tale of working on “The Pile” in the days following the September 11, 2001 attacks. His sacrifice, and those of all the other first responders, living and dead, will always be remembered.
