More Illegal Clothing Bins Being Dropped Around The Neighborhood

For-profit clothing donation bins have been an ongoing problem in Ditmas Park and nearby neighborhoods for a while now, and it seems like we’ve gotten a new rash of them over the past several weeks. This bin on Westminster and Foster, like others before it, has turned into something of a dumpster/trash heap, and we’ve also noticed bins placed on E 16th Street near Cortelyou Road (below) as well as one on Hinckley Place near Coney Island Avenue and Coney Island Avenue near Turner Place.

These bins are illegal under the DSNY’s Local Law 31 of 2007. Neighbors are invited to submit a form requesting their removal–and for  Viltex USA bins like the one on Westminster, you can also get in touch with company dispatcher Mary at 862-279-5292 or maryviltexusa@gmail.com.
