Monday Morning’s MTA Mess Snarls Commutes
Another Monday morning, another mess for the MTA.
Signal and mechanical problems on the subway led to massive delays and service problems, delaying commuters across the city.
Canarsie bound L trains are running with delays because of a train with mechanical at DeKalb Av. Allow additional travel time.

Naturally, plenty of riders were waiting on trains and too to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
D train stuck underground in Brooklyn for 50mins – new personal record. @MTA is such a failure of government & infrastructure.

Platforms were crowded with waiting passengers and some riders were stuck in trains for long waits. The F train ran on the G track from Court Square to Bergen, confusing riders.

The B/Q platform at Prospect Park was jammed as well.
While these delays aren’t exactly a surprise to New Yorkers, they are a major source of frustration—and lost time.
Just last week, a study showed exactly how much the city was losing to train delays, making the costly nature of today’s commute even more blatant.
