Missed Connection: Written & Smitten
Ladies–were you working on your opus in Outpost last weekend, perhaps employing a little nectar of the gods to jumpstart your creative process? If so, a fellow sometimes-scribe has taken his writing from the pages of a Moleskine to the pages of Craigslist to win your affection.
Via a post titled “White tank top, blue shorts, writing in your journal”:
You were writing in your journal on the couch, drinking a glass of wine. When you got there a little after 4pm, I was in a meeting. I had on a yellow v-neck tshirt and shorts, at the table right by the couch where you were sitting. I kept getting distracted when you’d move around. You were intent on your notebook once you got settled, and then on your phone as I left.
I’m a 30s guy in good shape who does “interesting work.” I write in notebooks at bars and coffee shops too. We can share our opinions about notebooks. Who doesn’t have opinions about notebooks?
You wore your shorts well. I didn’t want to be the billionth guy to hit on a girl in a coffee shop when she’s trying to write, but… if you ever want someone to buy you another glass of wine, let me know.
If you were stealing glimpses back, outlining your protagonist’s love interest as a guy who wears bright tees and does “interesting work,” you can do some more character research by emailing you inspiration here.
