Midwood Murder: 31-Year-Old Shot Dead In Apartment

A 31-year-old Midwood woman is dead after being shot in her apartment yesterday afternoon. Now police authorities are on the hunt for the victim’s boyfriend, who they hope to question.

The call was broadcast over police radios about the shooting shortly before 1:00 p.m. yesterday. When police turned up at the 1506 Ocean Avenue apartment (off of Avenue J) they found the victim, who remains unnamed, dead on the scene with shots to her head and chest.

Two men were in the apartment when police arrived, but a third man, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend, fled the scene. According to the New York Post he is armed, though the Daily News is reporting that authorities recovered a handgun in the backyard of the first floor apartment.
