Marine Park Child Hit By Car This Morning

An accident in Marine Park led to a 9-year-old boy getting hit by a car this morning at around 8:30am on Avenue P and Ryder Street, according to police.

The sedan was traveling down Ryder Street when the 54-year-old driver collided with a box truck that was driving on Avenue P causing it to hop the curb onto the southeast corner of the intersection where the child was, police said.

The boy was in serious but stable condition when a private Hatzolah ambulance brought him to Maimonides Medical Center, authorities said. Both vehicles remained on the scene, and the investigation by police is ongoing.
