Maria Vinograndova, 86, Killed By Nightgown Blaze
An elderly neighbor died in a tragic accident Tuesday night after her nightgown caught fire while she was cooking.
The Daily News reports:
The 87-year-old woman, identified by police sources as Maria Vinograndova, was discovered by her granddaughter dead with burns on her face, torso, arms and feet on the kitchen floor of her apartment on E. 12th St. in Sheepshead Bay around 9 p.m., according to police sources.
The Post adds that Vinograndova was found by her granddaughter, who lives with her but was not home at the time of the accident.
