Man Wanted For Attacking Female Straphanger On R Line

Cops are searching for a man they say attacked a female straphanger on the platform of the northbound R train.

The incident happened on August 19, at approximately 10:55pm, at the Bay Ridge Avenue station, according to police. The suspect pushed and slapped his female victim — who did not recognize her assailant — and struggled with other passengers that attempted to detain him, before he fled the station north on 4th Avenue.

The victim was treated at the scene.

The individual is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 3 inches to 5’4″ tall, 135 pounds, and last seen wearing a white long sleeve button up dress shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Surveillance photos of the suspect were captured from the turnstile area at the above subway station after the incident.
