Man Injured After Driving Into 7-Eleven This Morning

A man was injured after driving into the corner of 7-Eleven at Beverley Road and Coney Island Avenue this morning. The FDNY says a call came in at 7:42am, and the driver was eventually released after refusing medical attention.

We happened to be walking by shortly after the accident occurred, and ran into neighbor David Gallaher exiting the store. “We all heard a ding or a honking noise and then the car hit,” he told us. “I was just at the ATM a couple of minutes ago!”

A manager at the store said nobody else was hurt, and that the silver car in the photos was a customer’s parked car. “I guess that’s why you always park around the corner,” said an employee shoveling glass.

We hope the driver, who the FDNY says went untreated against medical advice, will be okay, and are glad nobody else was injured. As for 7-Eleven, the store still seems to be up and running for now, and the manager we spoke to said he thinks the day can only get better.
