Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Brutal Attack of 66-Year-Old
PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS—A man faces attempted murder and assault charges after he allegedly attacked a 66-year-old man in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens last week.
On Monday, July 1, 24-year-old Jason Jacobs got into a verbal altercation with the victim inside a bodega that turned violent, police say. The physical part of the altercation took place outside the 660 Rogers Avenue Bodega at approximately 3:15 p.m, the NYPD says.
The suspect repeatedly punched the victim who suffered severe multiple fractures and head trauma, according to the NYPD. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
On Wednesday, July 3, the defendant was charged with attempted murder along with multiple counts of assault. He is now in police custody, according to an NYPD rep.
