Man Assaulted On Edge Of Kensington; Council Member Greenfield Offers Reward
A 49-year old man was assaulted and robbed by three men on the border between Kensington and Borough Park last night, police said.
The assailants put the victim in a chokehold and threw him to the ground on Monday night on 38th Street between 15th and 16th Avenues, kicking him in the face and stealing his wallet, the NYPD said.
The men then fled the scene, said police.
The assault took place in the 66th Precinct, just west of Dahill Road. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined additional medical treatment, cops said.
Video footage obtained by the Borough Park Shomrim reportedly showed the three suspects fleeing from the crime scene. Police will step up patrols in the area, Council Member David Greenfield’s office said.
Greenfield is offering a $500 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the assailants. Anyone with information should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
