Get out and make some music this Sunday! Make Music New York is happening throughout the city and there are several performances happening in our neighborhood.

Now in its ninth year, Make Music New York, is a unique festival of more than 1,000 free concerts in public spaces throughout New York City, all on June 21st, the first day of summer.

From 10am to 10pm, musicians of all ages and musical styles perform on streets, sidewalks, stoops, plazas, cemeteries, parks and gardens. From high school bands to marquee names, Make Music New York is open to anyone who wants to take part and free to all.

In Park Slope, 5th Avenue is the place to be to hear music. Some of the acts you will be able to see include the Elaine Delage Guitar Ensemble performing from 5:30 to 6:30pm and the Bella Voce Singers performing from 7 to 8pm at the Warren St. Marks Community Garden, The Erstwhiles performing at Ginger’s Bar from 6 to 8pm, and nonstop music performances at the Old Stone House from 10am to 3pm, and there’s plenty more.
