Make Music New York Brings Free Shows This Friday
Make Music New York, the festival of free concerts in public spaces around the city, is back for its seventh year this Friday, June 21, and once again we’ll have some fun acts to check out right here in the neighborhood. There’s a full day of fun at Freddy’s, plus a chance to check out bands in front of Fifth Avenue Record & Tape near 9th Street, and tons more all over the city.
Here’s what you can watch nearby:
Freddy’s Bar and Backroom (627 5th Ave)2pm: Dahl Haus (Rock)
3:30-4:30pm: Meggin Ceol (Indie-Folk, Pop)
4:30-5pm: Claire Hawkins (Country, Indie-Folk, Pop)
5-6pm: Even Twice (Rock)
6-7pm: Angel Band Jam (Country)
7-7:45pm: Gypsy George & the Open Road Love Affair (Gypsy)
8-9pm: Les Sans Culottes (Rock)
9-10pm: Painless Parker (Folk, Roots)
10-11am: The Somerton Suitcase (Experimental, Folk, Funk)
7-8pm: Cowpatch (Rock)
9-10pm: 212th and Hillside (Electronic, Experimental, Jazz)
7-9pm: The Shitbirds (Rock)
Additionally, the Park Slope 5th Avenue BID lists several other locations that aren’t on the MMNY map, which will all have music from 7-9pm. So just take a evening stroll down 5th, and you’ll run into music!
If you’re not going to be in the neighborhood to catch any of these shows, but you still want to see something, be sure to check out the full MMNY schedule and map, because there’s probably something happening wherever you are in the city on Friday.
