Luke’s Lobster To Open On Friday

Get ready to put on a bib and [clam] belly up to the bar when the Park Slope location of Luke’s Lobster opens this Friday, September 26 at noon, bringing draft beer and a backyard with it.

The new space, located at 237 5th Avenue between Carroll and President, will serve its standby lobster roll — prepared with a touch of mayo, a drizzle of lemon butter, and dash of seasoning in a buttered and toasted bun — plus New England clam chowder and a daily rotation of soups from Hurricane’s Soups, a family-run business in Maine, and more. And for dessert? You’ll be able to grab a slice of Four and Twenty Blackbirds‘ Maine blueberry or salted caramel apple pie.

This will also be the first Luke’s location to offer beer on tap. The selections will include some from Maine’s Allagash, Peak, Shipyard, and Atlantic microbreweries, but as with the pie, they’re featuring local brews as well — Gowanus-based Grimm Artisanal Ales will be available, but as with all their Belgian-inspired craft beers, the ones at Luke’s will be in limited release, so enjoy each one while you can.

The space will have a backyard, where they plan on throwing grilled lobster tail parties, brewer’s tastings, and more — or you can just enjoy what’s left of the warm weather this season, perhaps during happy hour.

In the future, look out for delivery seven nights a week; plus a community supported fishery program, Village Fishmonger, will be using the space as a weekly pickup site.

News about this 12th location of the popular seafood restaurant came out in February, though Luke’s notes it’s been two and a half years since they first found the space. After signs went up in the window recently, we learned last week that they would finally be opening soon, and that they’re hiring — those job listings are still up, for anyone who’s interested.
