UPDATE 5/20: The family is now offering a $300 reward to anyone who can help get Sam back home.
A Fort Greene couple is searching for their lost dog, Sam, who ran away from his walker in Fort Greene Park on Saturday morning. Sam, a 40-pound neutered black lab mix with a white star on his chest and white markings on his feet, was last seen on South Oxford Street and Fulton Street with a blue leash.
Kateleigh Denchak said her sister, Melissa Denchak and her fiance, Shon Morris, recently moved back to Fort Greene from Guatemala, and Sam is still unfamiliar with the area. Denchak’s sister gave birth to the couple’s first child on Saturday and is still in the hospital.
Sam is a little skittish around humans, but friendly, Denchak said. Sam is also very lean and has pointy ears.
