What To Look For At The Atlantic Antic This Sunday, September 27
One of the biggest street fairs in New York City, the 41st annual Atlantic Antic is taking place this Sunday, September 27 from 12-6pm. It runs rain or shine along Atlantic Avenue from 4th Avenue to Hicks Street. Expect live music, tons of stuff for the kids, and more than 500 booths to check out for shopping and eating.
This year, there’s an Official Atlantic Antic event app that can be downloaded for free. A street map for the event is also available.
Here are some things to look out for:
• The Youth Are Our Future presentation featuring Dodge YMCA Youth Programming on the main stage on Atlantic Avenue between Clinton and Court Streets, with performances at 1:15pm and 2:30pm.
• For the first time, the AALDC will host a Community Stage (Nevins Street & 3rd Avenue), together with Hard Soul Recordings, showcasing the talent of local youth organizations, and a special performance by Broadway’s Wicked the musical between 12:15-12:45pm.
• The New York Transit Museum lets you check out some vintage buses for free on Boerum Place between Atlantic and State Streets from 11am-6pm, and then head to the museum a block away where admission is just $1 until 5pm (last admission at 4:30pm).
• Get fitted for a free bike helmet on the southwest corner of Atlantic and Bond, thanks to the Department of Transportation and Council Member Stephen Levin, 12-3:00pm while supplies last.
• Bring the kids to the block between Boerum and Smith where there will be several bounce houses, face painting, carnival rides, and pony rides.
• But that’s not all! Be sure to check out all the bands playing throughout the afternoon.
