Police are warning Park Slope residents about a string of recent robberies taking place in the neighborhood and advising locals to lock their doors and windows.

CBS New York reported on the robberies last night. The two latest incidents occurred on Monday, April 17, at a building on Sterling Place. The robber got in through a fire escape window, the report says.

The 78th Precinct has been tweeting about the crimes, saying that the area from Garfield Place to 12th Street between 5th and 7th Avenues has been targeted. Police remind residents to lock their doors and windows when leaving the house.

Police also tweeted photos of a suspect yesterday.

If the man looks familiar, that’s because these photos were released in connection to a February incident where he is suspected of forcing his way into a home at 7th Avenue and Garfield Place during the middle of the day while someone was at home.

The suspect made off with $800 and some jewelry in that incident.

Anyone with information in regards to any of these incidents is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
