Local Man Arrested & Charged With Multiple Counts In Groping Cases
Jesse Dailey, a 34-year-old man who lives in the Slope, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to three incidents of groping young girls and for assaulting a police officer, police say.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday after being caught on camera following the assault of the officer on Monday and identified by a good Samaritan. The officer had stopped to question him about a forcible touching investigation, when he allegedly pushed her to the ground and ran, leaving the officer with a dislocated shoulder. He has been arrested and charged with felony assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and assault for this incident.
He has also been charged in the groping incident police reported yesterday, where an 11-year-old girl was walking on 4th Street and he allegedly grabbed her buttocks.
Additionally, he’s been charged with another incident that police say occurred on Friday, September 20, at about 4:30pm, when a 10-year-old girl was walking with her 11-year-old friend, also a girl, along 5th Avenue, when Dailey allegedly approached them from behind and brushed up and rubbed against the 10-year-old before squeezing the buttocks of the 11-year-old, and then fled the scene.
In these incidents, Dailey is being charged with two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, two counts of forcible touching, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
