Late Night G Train Derailment Leads To Injuries And Service Disruptions

The front wheels of a G train derailed as it was pulling into the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station Thursday night, causing passengers to evacuate, as well as minor injuries to three of those on board.

The southbound G derailed at about 10:30pm last night, roughly 700 feet before entering the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station.

Approximately 100 passengers on the train were led by MTA officials and FDNY through the tunnel and onto the station platform, according to to NBC New York. Two passengers were taken to the hospital to treat minor injuries, and another was treated for dizziness.

The cause for the derailment is currently under investigation.

The MTA reports limited service on the G Train, with suspension of service between Fulton Street and Church Avenue.

Here are some of the subway changes in effect as of Friday at 8:15am:

• There is no G train service between Fulton Street and Church Avenue in both directions. Take the F instead.

• There is limited G train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Court Square in both directions.

• There is shuttle train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street in both directions.

• As an alternative for G service customers can use the northbound B38 bus on Lafayette Avenue or the southbound B38 bus on DeKalb Avenue.
