Kruger: I Am Not Resigning Or Retiring
State Senator Carl Kruger has had it up to here with all those meddling kids bloggers who reported on the rumor that his troubles with the law were leading to a relatively quick and painless resignation. His press secretary Adrienne Knoll recently sent a “note” from Kruger, regarding the Senator’s intentions, to Daily News blog Daily Politics.
Here’s what Kruger had to say:
I’m not resigning or retiring. I’m positioning myself to run for re-election, and I’m concentrating on reapportionment so we know what the lines will look like in 2012.
Federal indictment be damned, Kruger is not going to be giving up his seat that easily. So what about his possible successors? They’ll probably want to talk to the Daily News directly, instead of using passive-aggressive notes.
Senator Kruger represents the 27th District, which includes Mill Basin, Brighton Beach and Manhattan Beach; as well as parts of Marine Park, Sheepshead Bay, Homecrest, Coney Island, Midwood, Gravesend and Bensonhurst.
