Join The South Brooklyn Queers Group For An All-Ages BBQ In Prospect Park

You know the South Brooklyn Queers meetups that have been going on for the last several months? This one is going to be a little different. Neighbor Sarah Jenny, who organizes the monthly event, has moved the June meetup to the Prospect Park Peristyle (96 Parkside Ave. (between Coney Island Ave. and Parade Pl.) so the event is more family-friendly and completely open to all ages. She says:

We mixed things up this month so it can be an intentionally sober, all ages and child friendly space. I would even say if local LGBTQ youth wanted to come (their parents are also welcome), they might actually really enjoy it–it can be hard and isolating being LGBTQ as a teen–though my guess is most people will be in their 20s-40s, but again, all ages are welcome. I do know a couple folks will be coming with their kids, so truly this space will be very open and inclusive!

The South Brooklyn Queers Summer BBQ will be this Sunday, June 23, from 12-4pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring their friends, families, pets, blankets for sitting, and food and drink to share if they are able.
