Join the 70th Precinct for the National Night Out Against Crime
The 70th Precinct is hosting the 29th anniversary of National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 7 from 6:30-9pm at the Parade Ground at Caton Avenue and Argyle Road. The 70th Precinct explains what the event is all about:
National Night Out is designed to:
1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!
In addition to food and games, you can bring electronics to be etched with a number that’s kept at the precinct, which they say makes it easier to reconnect you to your property if it’s ever lost or stolen. The event is also a good chance to get to know the officers in the precinct.
