Join The 66th Precinct For A Holiday Party & Community Council Meeting On Monday, December 15
Join NYPD leaders, as well as Community Board 12 officers, elected officials and other neighbors, at the 66th Precinct holiday party on Monday, December 15, starting at 6:30 p.m. at CB 12’s offices (5910 13th Avenue at 59th Street). At 7:30 p.m. the Community Council meeting begins.
This is the best place to tell the precinct brass about crime, parking, collision-prone corners, raucous bars whose patrons overrun local streets, or any other problems occurring in your neighborhood. Should you, by chance, think your concerns count for naught, last month a delegation of a half-dozen men and a woman gave meeting goers an earful about trucks with commercial plates parking overnight near Washington Cemetery.
Not only is it illegal for commercial vehicles to park on NYC streets, they block local access to these parking spaces, and hinder clear sight-lines along an isolated strip. The delegation got the commander’s full attention, along with that of Councilman David Greenfield and CB 12 Chairman Yidel Perlstein. Within two weeks, the local papers had announced a successful 66th Precinct enforcement action.
And to keep you up to date on crime in the 66th, here is the latest CompStat report, through November 30th.
