Join The 66th Precinct Community Council For Its Monthly Meeting On Thursday, April 16
This Thursday, April 16, all neighbors are invited to get acquainted with the 66th Precinct’s new commanding officer, Captain Kenneth M. Quick.
Captain Quick will lead the discussion at the precinct’s monthly Community Council meeting, which will kick off at 7:30pm in Community Board 12’s offices at 5910 13th Avenue in Borough Park.
This is the place to find out how Vision Zero is shaking out, what scams to watch out for, or how the precinct is curtailing sexual assault, as this is the NYPD’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Plus, it’s your chance to speak up. The monthly precinct meeting is the perfect place to get a cop or politician to pay attention to you and your complaints or concerns. As well as the commander, expect lots of other ears, including a handful of local politicians and/or their representatives, the precinct’s Community Affairs staff, the officers and district manager from Community Board 12, the Shomrim, and the Asian Civilian Patrol.
So you come prepared, here’s the latest precinct CompStat report. In the past 28 days, robbery, grand larceny auto, misdemeanor assault and sex crimes are up, compared to last year, while burglary and felony assault are down, both for the past 28 days and the week. And it looks like rape is up too — up 150% compared to five years ago.
