A man wielding a machete taunted subway riders on a southbound F train early Tuesday morning.

According to the Daily News, suspect Artem Aznaurov, 23, menaced a subway passenger at approximately 12:30am on Tuesday, February 9. Aznaurov allegedly pointed a machete towards a subway passenger.

On Wednesday, police sources said Aznaurov uttered the words “When I want blood, I get drunk” as he aimed the machete towards the passenger.

Aznaurov had already displayed disturbing behavior after entering the Brooklyn-bound F train at the East Broadway stop in Manhattan. He sat across from the victim, and removed the machete from a black bag as soon as the train started moving. According to witnesses, the suspect then said, “I want to chop off my own head and I’m already dead.”

Aznaurov raised the machete to his own throat before aiming it at another passenger. According to police, that passenger — a 24-year-old man — successfully convinced the suspect to put the machete down.

The police arrested Aznaurov at the 4th Avenue/9th Street subway station after one of the victims phoned the police from the train.

During his arrest, cops secured three other weapons that the suspect was carrying. He was then arrested on charges of weapon possession.

This incident comes soon after an incident in January on the 3 train at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station. In that incident, a man hacked at a woman’s hand, creating a 2-inch cut requiring stitches. Before the hacking, the man was reported to say, “I’ll chop you up on this fucking train!”

Similar crimes have not be limited to Brooklyn. Subway riders are on edge due the rash of recent slashings throughout the city, both on and off the subway.
