Hockey Mask-Wearing Bandit Tried To Rob Auto Parts Store, Cops Say
Cops are searching a hockey mask-wearing bandit who allegedly pulled a knife during an attempted robbery at a local auto parts shop last week.
The thief entered the Advanced Auto Parts store, located on Nostrand Avenue near Avenue X, just after 4pm on Sunday, May 1, police say. While wearing a “hockey-style face mask,” the robber demanded money from the cash register while brandishing a knife, according to the NYPD. When employees told him the register was empty, the suspect fled the store, authorities say.
Police provided surveillance photos of the suspect. He is described as a black man, approximately 40 years old, five feet, eight inches tall, and 170 pounds. He was last seen with the mask, wearing white sneakers, a black jacket, and blue gloves.
