The modular housing towers for Pacific Park, formerly known as Atlantic Yards, continue apace and now we have a better idea of what the rental buildings will look like once complete. The latest designs are for the B2 and B4 towers at 38 Sixth Avenue — the ones that wrap around the back and side end of Barclays Center.

Since these are designed by Barclays-designer SHoP Architects, the 23-story towers have similar aesthetics, with three stacked volumes, each with a distinct color and pattern. As described by New York YIMBY:

The base along Dean and Sixth Avenue will feature red and orange sections, layered on top of dark gray. The next several floors will be covered in a very light, almost-white gray. Then a mix of gold bands and cloud-gray panels will define the top eight stories and an interior section on Sixth Avenue. Unfortunately, the exterior does sport PTACs, which will mar the facade and drive up residents’ energy bills.

As rentals, the 303 units at 38 Sixth Avenue will include some “affordable” units, open to people making 40 or 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI), or as low as $31,000 a year for a family of three, and as high as $128,200. “The units will break down into 66 studios, 131 one-bedrooms, 90 two-bedrooms, and 16 three-bedrooms.”
